Ever get the feeling you're being ripped off? The Consumerist is the blog where shoppers can bite back and sometimes even leave deep teeth marks. As the editors put it: "We're not anti-capitalist; we're anti-stupid-capitalist." And there's lot of stupid capitalism on display: the man who spent what seemed like a century on the phone trying to cancel an AOL account (and posted an audio clip of the exchange on the blog), the Gift cards whose value dwindles over time, credit card payment due dates getting shorter, interest rates shooting up for no apparent reason, warranty repairs that never seem to be covered by the warranty, overdraft fees that are wildly out of line with the amount of money involved, health insurance coverage denied on a whim. Gosh, it's almost as if the American consumer is getting screwed every single day of his life. The Consumerist is a place to bite back, or at least cheer the underdog baring his teeth.
